Dr Anne O'Donoghue

BDentSc, MSc (Lond)
Practice limited to Periodontology and Implant Dentistry.

Anne is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin 1982, she completed a Masters in Periodontology in 1986 in the Eastman Dental Hospital London. Anne is the past president of the Irish Society of Periodontology and an elected member of the European Periodontal Society. She was involved as clinical course coordinator of continuing dental education in the Dublin Dental Hospital. She holds a partime post in the Cleft Lip and Palate unit in St Jamess Hospital and the Dublin Dental Hospital. She is the principal dental surgeon in The Northumberland Institute of Dental Medicine.

Dr Tom Canning

Dr. Canning received his undergraduate training in the Dublin Dental School and Hospital where he graduated with honours in 2000. He was awarded the Irish Dental Council prize for restorative dentistry in his graduating class. Following graduation Dr. Canning spent a year working as a House Officer in the Dublin Dental Hospital, after which he worked in General practice in the UK and Ireland. In 2005, Dr. Canning returned to the Dublin Dental School and Hospital to begin his specialist training. He completed a three year full time clinical doctorate program in Prosthodontics, graduating with Honours in 2008.

Dr Gary Leonard

Mr Gary Leonard graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 1992. He worked in general dental practice and specialist hospital practice in the UK and Ireland for a number of years. He was awarded an FFD in Oral Medicine and Oral Surgery in 2004 from the RCSI. He gained entry to the Specialist Register in Oral Surgery having completed specialist training in the Dublin Dental School in 2007. He was awarded a specialist FFD in Oral Surgery in 2007 from the RCSI.

Dr Rory Nolan

Dr Rory Nolan graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2001. He went on to work in general dental practice in Ireland, England and Australia. He spent one and a half years working as a Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the UK during which time he was awarded a Membership from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Dr Nolan undertook specialist training in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry and in 2009 completed a three year full time clinical and research doctorate at the Dublin Dental School and Hospital. He was awarded a Fellowship in Periodontology from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and is certified by the European Federation of Periodontology.

Prof Brian O'Connell

Prof Brian OConnell is Professor of Restorative Dentistry in the School of Dental Science and a Principal Investigator in the Trinity Centre for Bioengineering. Prior to his appointment to Trinity College he was Head of the Gene Regulation and Expression Unit at the National Institute for Dental and Craniofacial Research in Bethesda, USA.

Research Interests:
His current research includes the differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells and the early events around implant healing. He is also involved in interdisciplinary projects with the Centre for Adaptive Nanostructures and Nanodevices on the development of novel implant surfaces.

Dr Lian O'Dwyer

Dr Lian O’Dwyer graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 1999 and worked in general dental practice in Dublin and Australia for several years. In 2002 she was granted Membership of the Faculty of Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Lian undertook three years of specialist training at Leeds Dental Institute and St Lukes Hospital, Bradford. She qualified as a specialist orthodontist in 2008 from the Royal college of Surgeons in England, winning the J.K Williams gold medal for the best new orthodontic graduate in England. In addition to her clinical practice, Lian holds a part-time teaching post at the Dublin Dental Hospital. It is her goal to offer high quality orthodontic treatment to adults and children who want to improve their smile.

Dr Bob Philpott graduated from University College Cork in 2003. Following two years in general practice in London, Ihecompleted his SHO year in the University Hospital of Wales Dental Hospital, Cardiff. He  commenced a three-year specialist training pathway in Endodontology at the Eastman Dental Hospital, London in 2006. He completed this and gained a Membership in Restorative Dentistry (MRD) from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2009.
